Most frequent questions and answers

What is Delta 9 THC?

Delta 9 THC is a compound found naturally in the cannabis species (hemp and marijuana) or simply a “cannabinoid.” It consists of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. Some scientists theorize that THC offers plants protection against ultraviolet radiation (like a “cannabis sunblock”). Because of its structure, it can interact with a network in the human body called the “endocannabinoid system.” For many, this interaction produces desirable and enjoyable effects.

In the United States, the Delta 9-THC concentration on a dry weight basis separates hemp and marijuana. Hemp, which Congress legalized through the 2018 Farm Bill, is cannabis with a 0.3% or less concentration of Delta 9 THC on a dry weight basis. Marijuana is cannabis with any concentration higher than this.

Delta 9 is the most widely-known form of THC. Most of the time, you hear or read the word “THC,” it’s usually in reference to Delta 9.

Is Delta 9 Safe?

Hemp-derived Delta 9 products are meant for responsible enjoyment by adults 21 and older. Although it is possible to feel “overwhelmed” by consuming too much of this cannabinoid, there is very little threat of physical danger. Before trying hemp-derived Delta 9 products, you should consult your physician.

Under no circumstances should one drive or operate machinery after consuming hemp-derived Delta 9. Women who are pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or breastfeeding should not consume hemp-derived Delta 9 or any cannabinoid products.

And finally, it’s essential to know that there is no such thing as “childproof” packaging. Child-resistant packaging exists, but nothing is childproof. You should keep hemp-derived Delta 9 products out of the reach of children at all times.

What are The Benefits of Delta 9?
The main benefit of hemp-derived Delta 9 is legal on a federal level and in all 50 states. This legal status means that it can be purchased online, shipped over state lines, and delivered like many other items.

We are not at liberty to discuss any potential health benefits to hemp-derived Delta 9 THC. Please consult with your doctor before taking any products containing cannabinoids.

Delta 9 THC vs. Delta 8 THC

Delta 9 and Delta-8 are both naturally found in cannabis. These compounds are “isomers,” meaning they are made of the same “stuff” but arranged differently. Delta 9 has a chemical bond on its ninth carbon chain, and Delta-8 has a bond on its eighth carbon chain.

Many would describe them as sharing similar properties but with different effects. They can bring about euphoria and relaxation but to different degrees. What should be noted is that cannabinoids, their quantity, and their mediums have effects that vary from person to person.

On a federal level and in many states, the first “checkbox” for legality is the source of the cannabinoid. Delta 9 and Delta-8 derived from hemp enjoy a wide range of legality on a federal level and in many states. However, a critical difference between the two is the concentration limit in terms of legality.

Hemp-derived Delta 9 is only legal in a 0.3% or lower concentration. It can be found in full-spectrum CBD, but for more noticeable amounts, it can only be found in edible form. However, the “trade-off” is that hemp-derived Delta 9 is legal in all 50 states. Delta-8 is permitted in most states (as of this writing), but it does not have a concentration limit as it is its separate compound. Because of this, Delta-8 THC is Farm Bill compliant as an edible and as flower, tinctures, vapes, and concentrate.

What is THCa hemp flower?

“THCa hemp flower” is the name for cannabis buds with delta-9 THC levels that do not exceed 0.3% by dry weight, but which have high levels of THCa.

Delta 9 THC vs. CBD

CBD and hemp-derived Delta 9 THC differ significantly in terms of the noticeability of their effects. Cannabis enthusiasts see CBD as having a more “passive” effect, while Delta 9 is far more “active.”

It should also be known that hemp-derived Delta 9 and CBD pair nicely together. Alone, cannabinoids have their distinct effects, but together, they offer a desirable property known as the “entourage effect.”

Our Select Spectrum product line, featuring gummies and baked goods, features a 1:1 ratio of CBD to hemp-derived Delta 9, along with minor cannabinoids. We curated this blend specifically for offering the entourage effect.

And if you’re curious about hemp-derived Delta 9’s interactions with other types of cannabis compounds, you should check out our Live Rosin Gummies. These gummies feature 25mg of hemp-derived Delta 9 and hemp concentrate containing a live terpene profile in indica and sativa varieties.

Will smoking or vaping THCa hemp flower make users feel “high”?

Although everyone is different, it is possible that a user will feel intoxicated or “high” after smoking THCa hemp flower. We recommend informing your customers of the possibility of feeling “high” or intoxicated when using this product. We also recommend that you not sell THCa hemp flower to minors.
